The HEMA community is welcoming and open to all. At least that is what the goal is, to widen the sport to include any and all who wish to join the ranks of those who can swing a sword. What makes the Southern Historical Fencing League different is that our sense of hospitality is truly at the core of what we do.

When you attend a league event, you can be sure you will feel like you are visiting family. Everything from the lending of gear to cooking up a pot of jambalaya, that's what we do in SHFL. We strive to fight with honor and raise a glass to our opponents afterward with a slap on the back and sharing of stories.
